dc.description.abstract	Although the mouth and estuary area of the Onkaparinga River was part of Kaurna Language Country in the 1830s, no Kaurna name for it is definitely known. But Tayinbariangk or Tainbarangk was a name used by the Ramindjeri and Ngarrindjeri for the whole estuary, loosely described as ‘Port Noarlunga’, up to the western edge of the ‘Horseshoe’ loop of the river at Old Noarlunga. It is probably a fully-Ngarrindjeri name which means ‘place of arriving’.	en
