dc.description | The small palm tree suggests that the procession is passing the lawns in front of Elder Hall. It is believed that second from right with mortae is Ralph Tate, Professor of Natural Science 1875-1901. Similar photographs were taken by W.S. Smith in 1900 at the opening of the Elder Hall, at the laying of the foundation stone for the Elder Anatomy Building in 1902 and 1903 at the unveiling of the statue of Sir Thomas Elder. | en |
