Abstract: Congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH) may be either retrosternal, via the foramen of Morgagni, or posterolateral, via the foramen of Bochdalek. Both types of hernia present rarely in adulthood; fewer than 100 cases of non-paediatric Bochdalek hernia have been reported in the literature since 1853.1–5 Traditional surgi- cal repair has been performed by laparotomy, thoracotomy or a combination of both.1,3,6 We report a case of successful laparoscopic repair of a Bochdalek hernia presenting in adulthood.
