Abstract: | We demonstrate the first short pulse gain-switched Ho-doped fibre laser pumped by a gain-switched 1.9 μm Tmdoped fibre laser. Up to 21 W of peak power with a pulse width of 150 ns was obtained at a repetition rate of 80 kHz. An investigation of pulse stacking to reduce the pulse width and increase peak power resulted in shorter output pulses of 70ns, and an increased peak power of 43 W. |
